The Zombie's Secret Garden

Lily heard the stories. Every kid in town knew about the **zombie** that stumbled through the forest at night, moaning and dragging its feet. But Lily was curious, not scared.

One evening, she followed the sounds into the woods. There, among twisted trees, she found him—not a scary monster at all. He was a lonely creature with mossy hair and a gentle smile, tending a glowing garden of **papaya** trees that sparkled like tiny stars.

"These papayas grant wishes," the zombie whispered, his voice rusty from disuse. "But I've been alone so long, I've forgotten how to make friends."

Lily's dad had warned her about strangers, but something about the zombie's sad eyes made her trust him. She pulled out her dad's **iPhone**—she wasn't supposed to bring it, but she'd secretly tucked it in her pocket. The screen flickered with an app she'd never seen before. It showed a map to friendship.

Suddenly, a toy **bull** from Lily's backpack came to life, growing to the size of a real animal. It nodded wisely. "True friendship takes courage, like facing a bull in the ring."

Together, they played **padel** against an old tree trunk, laughing as the ball bounced between them. The zombie's clumsy movements became graceful as he played. With each hit, a papaya glowed brighter.

"I wish for a friend," the zombie said softly, catching the ball.

"Granted," the bull announced, and the papayas showered them in golden light that felt like warm hugs.

Lily learned that day that the scariest stories are often just about lonely hearts waiting for someone brave enough to say hello. And every evening after school, she returned to the garden, where friendship grew sweeter than any magical fruit.
