The Zombie's Secret Garden

Lily loved spending time in her backyard, especially under the old palm tree where she could read and dream. One sunny afternoon, something magical happened. Her pet goldfish, Goldie, suddenly jumped out of his bowl and whispered, "Follow me!"

Goldie grew legs and led Lily behind the palm tree, where she discovered a small golden pyramid half-buried in the grass. When Lily touched it, the pyramid opened like a door!

Inside was the most beautiful garden she had ever seen. But the most surprising thing was the gardener—a friendly zombie named Zara. She wasn't scary at all. Zara had green skin and messy hair, but she wore a colorful flowered apron and carried a watering can shaped like a duck.

"Welcome!" Zara said with a warm smile. "I've been waiting for someone kind to help me."

Zara explained that she grew special papayas that could make anyone's dreams come true. But she needed help harvesting them because her zombie hands were sometimes too clumsy.

Lily happily agreed. She climbed the trees and gathered the ripe papayas while Zara told funny stories about her zombie life. Zara might have been different, but she was the kindest friend Lily had ever met.

When they finished, Zara let Lily choose one papaya as a gift. "This will give you one wish," Zara explained.

Lily thought carefully. She could wish for toys or candy, but instead she said, "I wish that Zara could visit my garden anytime she wants, and that everyone could see how wonderful zombies can be!"

The papaya glowed, and suddenly Zara wasn't hidden anymore. Children from all over the neighborhood came to meet her and learn about her magical garden. Zara taught them that being different was what made someone special.

From that day on, under the palm tree near the golden pyramid, Lily, Zara, and Goldie the goldfish had many more adventures together. And Lily learned that the best magic of all was friendship and kindness toward everyone—no matter how different they might seem.
