The Zombie's Secret Garden
Luna loved her grandmother's garden, especially at night when the fireflies danced. One evening, she spotted something strange—a green figure moving between the tomato plants.
"Who's there?" Luna whispered, clutching her flashlight.
The figure turned slowly. It was a zombie! But not a scary one—this zombie wore gardening gloves and a friendly smile. "Hello, little one. I'm Zephyr, the night gardener."
Luna's eyes widened. "But... zombies are supposed to be scary!"
Zephyr chuckled. "Not all zombies. Some of us just love helping plants grow. See this papaya tree?" He pointed to a glowing tree with golden fruits. "It only blooms under moonlight. And this spinach?" He touched vibrant green leaves. "It grows twice as fast when I sing to it."
"Can I help?" Luna asked.
Zephyr nodded. "But first, you must learn the secret ingredient."
He led her to a small patch where tiny seedlings glowed. "Magic isn't about being scary or powerful. It's about patience, kindness, and believing in impossible things."
Luna watched as Zephyr sprinkled something shimmering on the plants. "What's that?"
"Hope," he said simply. "Every plant needs hope to grow tall."
They worked side by side all night—Luna planting papaya seeds while Zephyr hummed ancient songs to the spinach. By dawn, the garden was transformed.
"Will you come back tomorrow?" Luna asked.
Zephyr smiled sadly. "Zombies only come out at night. But look..." He pointed to tiny sprouts already pushing through the soil. "The plants remember. They'll grow strong because you believed in them."
Luna returned every evening to tend her garden, and though she never saw Zephyr again, the papaya tree grew tall and sweet, and the spinach flourished like magic. She learned that sometimes the most wonderful friends are the ones who teach us that kindness lives everywhere—even in a zombie's garden.
