The Zombie's Secret Baseball Club

baseballcatspyzombie

Tommy loved baseball more than anything. Every evening after school, he'd grab his glove and run to the old park behind his house. But strange things were happening there. His baseball kept disappearing overnight!

One full moon night, Tommy decided to find out why. He crept to the park with his flashlight, ready to be a spy. What he saw made his eyes go wide.

A green zombie shuffled toward home plate, tripping over his own feet. The zombie looked nervous, not scary at all.

"I can't play," the zombie moaned sadly. "I'm too clumsy."

Suddenly, a sleek black cat leaped from the shadows. The cat's name was Whiskers, and she had golden eyes that sparkled like tiny stars.

"Everyone deserves to play!" Whiskers meowed. To Tommy's surprise, the cat could talk!

Whiskers showed the zombie how to hold the bat properly. She guided his hands with her paws and cheered, "You can do it! Believe in yourself!"

The zombie swung—and missed. But he didn't give up. He tried again and again, while Whiskers encouraged him.

Tommy stepped out from his hiding spot. "Can I play too?"

The zombie looked startled, but then smiled. "I'm Zedd. I just wanted to make friends."

"I'm Tommy, and this is my baseball!" Tommy laughed. "But you can borrow it anytime."

All night long, they played baseball under the moonlight. Zedd wasn't clumsy anymore—having friends who believed in him gave him confidence. Whiskers became the best referee ever, using her magical tail to call fair and foul balls.

They learned something wonderful that night: never judge someone by how they look. Even a zombie just wants to belong. And with true friends, anything is possible.

Every night since, the three friends meet at the park for midnight baseball. The adults never believe it, but somewhere in your town, magic might be happening too. Just keep your heart open, and you might find your own unexpected friendships waiting for you.
