The Zombie's Riddle Game

Lily loved playing baseball in her backyard. She had a bright orange ball that she'd hit with her old wooden bat. One sunny afternoon, she hit the ball so high it disappeared into a cloud.

When Lily went to look for it, she found herself in a magical forest she'd never seen before. The trees were purple, and the grass sparkled like glitter. Suddenly, a zombie shuffled out from behind a tree!

Lily wanted to run, but the zombie looked friendly. It had messy green hair and wore a colorful shirt. "Hi! I'm Zara!" the zombie said with a smile. "I'm not scary. I just love riddles!"

Before Lily could answer, a large sphinx appeared. It had the body of a lion and the head of a wise person. "To leave this magical land, you must solve my riddle," the sphinx said in a deep, kind voice. "What is orange, round, and can fly?"

Lily thought hard. "An orange?" she guessed. The sphinx shook its head. Zara the zombie bounced up and down. "I know! I know!" but she didn't say the answer.

Just then, a friendly bear walked out of the forest. He was brown and fluffy, wearing a little blue cap. "Did someone say baseball?" the bear asked. "I'm Benny! I love baseball!"

Lily's eyes lit up. "My orange baseball! I hit it and that's how I got here!" She looked at the sphinx. "The answer is a baseball! Or at least, my baseball!"

The sphinx smiled. "Correct! You are clever and kind. You didn't run away from Zara even though she looks different, and you made friends with Benny."

The sphinx waved her paw, and suddenly Lily was back in her backyard. Her orange baseball lay on the grass. But now she had three new friends who sometimes visited her dreams. She learned that things aren't always what they seem, and that friendship can be found anywhere—even with zombies, sphinxes, and bears.
