The Zombie's Orange Surprise
Lily spent every summer day at her grandmother's magical **pool**. The water shimmered like liquid sunshine, and her curly red **hair** created tiny rainbows when it dripped cool droplets down her back. She loved how the pool felt like a giant, watery hug.
One hot afternoon, Grandma brought out a tray of fresh **orange** slices and a mysterious bottle filled with sparkling golden liquid.
"Lily, these are magic **vitamin** drops," Grandma whispered with a wink. "They make even the grumpiest creatures happy and healthy."
Lily giggled, but then she noticed something strange behind the garden fence. A green figure shuffled slowly toward them. Its arms swayed oddly like wet noodles, and its eyes looked sleepy and sad.
"Is that a... **zombie**?" Lily gasped, her heart beating fast like a drum.
The zombie looked scary with its patchy green skin, but then Lily saw something — its eyes looked lonely, not mean. Instead of running away, she remembered what Grandma always said: "Kindness is the strongest magic."
Lily grabbed a bright orange slice, added a sparkling vitamin drop, and held it out to the creature with a shaking but brave hand.
The zombie stopped shuffling. Its nose twitched at the sweet citrus smell. Then, to Lily's surprise, it smiled!
"Zim," the zombie said softly, taking the orange. "Thank you."
Zim wasn't scary at all — he was just lonely and hungry, and his green skin was from swimming in magical moss too long! He became Lily's favorite pool buddy, playing games all summer and learning to do the biggest, splashiest cannonballs that made water fly everywhere.
Lily learned that sometimes things that seem scary at first just need a little kindness, courage, and maybe a magical orange snack.
And every summer after, the pool became the most magical place in the world, where anyone — even zombies — could find a friend.
