The Zombie's Magical Orange

In a cozy little forest, there lived a zombie named Zeb. But Zeb wasn't like the zombies in scary stories. Oh no! Zeb was friendly, loved to garden, and always wore a bright orange scarf around his neck. The only problem was, all the other animals were afraid of him.

Every day, Zeb would tend to his garden, growing the most beautiful flowers. But nobody came to visit. The squirrels would scatter. The rabbits would hop away. Even the birds stopped singing when he shuffled by.

One sunny afternoon, a curious little fox named Fiona peeked from behind a bush. She had never seen a zombie up close before. Zeb was watering his pumpkins, humming a happy tune.

"Hello?" Fiona said, her voice trembling just a little.

Zeb turned around slowly. "Oh! Hello there, little friend. Would you like an orange? I grew them myself!"

He held out the brightest, juiciest orange Fiona had ever seen. It glowed like a tiny sun in his green hand.

Fiona's eyes went wide. "You grew this?"

"Yes indeed!" Zeb smiled. "And watch this..." He sprinkled some magical orange dust from his pocket onto the orange. Suddenly, it began to glow even brighter, and tiny sparkles floated up into the air like orange fireflies.

"Wow!" Fiona gasped. "Can you show the others? They're all hiding in the oak tree because they're scared of you."

So Fiona led Zeb to the big oak tree where all the forest animals were hiding. At first, they trembled with fear. But then Zeb did something amazing. He took out his magical orange dust and made fireworks of orange light dance in the air. He gave everyone juicy oranges to eat. He even made orange flowers bloom instantly from the ground.

"He's not scary at all!" whispered a squirrel.

"He's magical!" chirped a bluebird.

Soon, everyone was laughing and eating oranges together. Fiona smiled at her new friend. She had learned something important that day: sometimes, the things that seem different or scary might just be the most wonderful friends of all—if you're brave enough to say hello.
