The Zombie's Magical Hair
Lily loved her old iPhone, even though it had a cracked screen. Her grandma had given it to her as a pretend phone, but Lily knew it was special. One rainy afternoon, while playing a made-up game, something magical happened.
A tiny zombie appeared on her screen! He wasn't scary at all — he was only three inches tall, with bright green skin and the messiest, wildest hair Lily had ever seen. His hair stuck up in every direction, like it had a mind of its own.
"Help me!" squeaked the zombie, climbing out of the iPhone and onto Lily's desk. "My hair is magical, but it's all tangled! I can't see where I'm going!"
Lily gasped but didn't feel afraid. The zombie looked friendly, like someone who needed a friend. "I can help fix your hair," she offered, grabbing her brush.
"No ordinary brush can help," said the zombie sadly. "My hair needs the magic comb from the forest bear. He lives in the tall oak tree behind your house."
Lily's eyes widened with wonder. She grabbed her raincoat and followed the tiny zombie out the window. The rain had stopped, and something amazing happened — everywhere the zombie stepped, flowers bloomed!
In the backyard, the old oak tree was glowing. A gentle bear with golden-brown fur appeared, holding a comb that sparkled like captured starlight.
"You've come," the bear said wisely. "But first, you must solve my riddle. What's more powerful than looking scary?"
Lily thought hard. "Being kind?"
The bear smiled. "Exactly. This zombie's hair tangled because he forgot that kindness matters more than appearances. Now, let me help."
The bear gently combed the zombie's wild hair. As he did, the most beautiful stories flowed from each strand — tales of friendship, courage, and helping others. The zombie's hair transformed into soft, flowing strands that glowed with happiness.
"Thank you!" the zombie beamed. "My hair tells the story of how I learned that true beauty comes from within."
Lily hugged her new friends. She learned that day that the most magical things aren't scary at all — sometimes they're just misunderstood souls waiting for someone to see the good inside them.
From then on, whenever Lily looked at her old iPhone, she remembered: everyone deserves a friend who sees past appearances and into the heart.
