The Zombie's Magical Garden
Lila, Ben and Mia loved playing padel at the park. Every Saturday, they'd meet at the court, their racquets ready and their sneakers squeaking on the concrete. But this Saturday was different.
"I lost my iphone!" Lila cried, her hands searching her empty pockets. "It has all my favorite games!"
"Don't worry," Ben said. "We'll help you find it."
As they searched near the old orange tree behind the padel court, something strange happened. A small orange fell from the tree and rolled toward an overgrown path they'd never noticed before.
"Where does that go?" Mia wondered.
The three friends followed the path deeper into the woods. The trees grew taller, with palm leaves waving in the breeze like friendly hands. Suddenly, they heard a groan.
"BRAAAAAINS..." came a voice from behind a bush.
Lila gasped. "What was that?"
A zombie stepped out! But this zombie wasn't scary like in movies. He wore torn overalls and a floppy hat, and his green skin looked more like moss than anything spooky.
"BRAINS..." he said again, then sighed. "No, not brains. I'm looking for my gardening tools!"
The zombie's name was Zed, and he was the most magical gardener in the world. "I grow friendship flowers," Zed explained, showing them his garden where colorful flowers sparkled with magic dust. "But I'm lonely. No one ever visits because they think I'm scary."
Lila's iphone buzzed from Zed's pocket! "You found it!" she cheered.
"I was going to return it," Zed said sadly. "But I thought you'd run away like everyone else."
"We're not running away," Mia said firmly. "We want to be your friend!"
Zed's face lit up like sunshine. He gave each of them a friendship flower that glowed when they held hands. The flowers bloomed into oranges, sweet and magical.
"Come back anytime!" Zed called as they waved goodbye.
That day, Lila, Ben and Mia learned that friends come in all shapes and sizes—even zombie ones. And every Saturday after their padel game, they visited Zed, bringing him orange slices and stories, proving that the best friendships grow from the most unexpected seeds.
