The Zombie's Magical Baseball Game
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One rainy afternoon, she discovered a shiny golden pyramid tucked between old boxes. When she touched it, the pyramid glowed!
"Curious," she whispered. In a flash, Lily found herself standing on a tropical island with swaying palm trees.
"Welcome!" a voice called. Lily turned to see a green-skinned zombie—but he wasn't scary like in movies. He wore a colorful baseball cap and held a baseball bat.
"I'm Zed!" the zombie smiled. "Want to play?"
Lily had never played baseball, but Zed was patient. He taught her how to swing the bat and catch the ball. Under the palm trees, they played for hours. Zed moved slowly and sometimes lost his grip on the bat, but he laughed every time.
"I'm not scary," Zed confided. "I'm magical! The pyramid brought us together because you needed a friend, and I was lonely."
Lily realized Zed was right. She had been feeling lonely at her new school. As they sat in the palm tree's shade, sharing stories, Lily discovered something wonderful: Zed had been a famous baseball player long ago!
"The pyramid's magic," Zed explained, "helps children who need friends find them. You have a kind heart."
As sunset painted the sky pink, Zed handed Lily a small baseball carved from wood. "Whenever you feel lonely, hold this. Remember, true friends see with their hearts, not their eyes."
The golden pyramid glowed again, and Lily was back in the attic. She held the wooden baseball tight, knowing she had made a magical friend who taught her that friendship has nothing to do with appearances—and everything to do with kindness.
From that day on, Lily looked for lonely children at school and became their friend. After all, that's what Zed would have wanted.
