The Zombie's Magic Garden
Lily followed her cat, Mochi, through a secret gate in their backyard fence. The gate hadn't been there yesterday—or any day before. Mochi's tail twitched with excitement as he led her down a path paved with glowing stones.
At the end of the path stood a garden unlike anything Lily had ever seen. But the most surprising thing was the gardener: a friendly zombie boy with green skin and patchwork clothes.
"Hello!" he waved, his smile warm. "I'm Zed. Welcome to my garden!"
Lily wasn't scared. Zed didn't look scary—he looked lonely, and his eyes sparkled with kindness.
"Your garden is beautiful," Lily said. "But why do some plants look droopy?"
Zed sighed. "They're hungry for magic. I'm trying to grow moon-papayas and star-spinach, but they need something special—water from the Wonder Well at the garden's heart. But I'm too slow, and my joints creak."
Mochi rubbed against Zed's leg, purring loudly. Zed's face lit up.
"I have an idea!" Lily said. "Mochi is fast, and I can help carry buckets. Together, we'll do it!"
They worked as a team. Zed showed them which plants needed water. Lily filled buckets from the shimmering Wonder Well. Mochi darted between the rows, guiding them to the thirstiest plants.
The moment the magical water touched the soil, the garden erupted in color. Papaya fruits glowed like tiny moons. Spinach leaves shimmered with starlight. Flowers hummed gentle melodies.
"You did it!" Zed cheered, dancing with Lily and Mochi. "Thank you for helping me. I thought I had to do everything alone."
"That's what friends are for," Lily said, hugging her new friend. "Even zombie gardeners need help sometimes."
That night, Lily learned that kindness brings magic to life, and the best adventures happen when you open your heart to unexpected friendships—especially the ones with cats, zombies, and enchanted vegetables.
