The Zombie's Magic Garden
Lily discovered the hat on a rainy Tuesday. It was purple and sparkly, with a wide brim that curved up at the edges. When she put it on, something magical happened—she could see secret doors everywhere!
One door led to a hidden garden behind the old oak tree. There, she met Zed, a friendly zombie with green skin and crooked teeth. But Zed wasn't scary at all. He wore overalls covered in dirt and carried a watering can.
"Hello!" Zed waved. "Would you like to see my special garden?"
Lily nodded eagerly.
Zed showed her rows of glowing plants. "This is magical spinach," he explained. "It grows from moonlight and happy thoughts."
"Why do you grow it?" Lily asked.
Zed sighed. "I need the vitamin inside this spinach to feel alive again. You see, I wasn't always a zombie. I was once a gardener who forgot to eat his vegetables. Now I need this special spinach to remember how to be human."
Lily's eyes widened. "Can I help?"
Together, they harvested the shiny green leaves. Zed ate a handful, and slowly, his green skin turned pink. His smile brightened.
"Every vegetable has a special vitamin," Zed told Lily. "Carrots help you see in the dark. Spinach makes you strong and kind. That's why eating healthy is like eating magic!"
From that day on, Lily wore her sparkly hat every time she visited Zed. They planted more seeds together—carrots, peas, and magical beans. Zed became more human with each harvest.
One morning, Zed took off his overalls. "I think I'm ready to go back to my family," he said. "But I'll never forget what you taught me, Lily. Friendship is the strongest vitamin of all."
Lily hugged her friend. "And I learned that vegetables are magical!"
As Zed walked away, he turned back one last time. "Keep wearing that hat. It shows you have a kind heart."
Lily touched her purple hat and smiled. She couldn't wait to tell her friends about the magic garden, the zombie who became human, and the secret power of spinach. From then on, she ate all her vegetables—and always looked for magic in unexpected places.
