The Zombie's Magic Garden
Lily loved exploring behind her grandmother's old house, especially near the crumbling stone pyramid in the garden. Everyone said it was just a garden ornament, but Lily knew better. One hot afternoon, she followed a trail of glittering blue butterflies toward the pyramid and noticed something strange—someone had left a cup of fresh water beside the ancient stones.
"Hello?" Lily called out softly.
From behind the pyramid emerged not a monster, but a sad-looking boy with patchy green skin and tangled purple hair. He shuffled forward, his movements stiff and slow.
"Are you... a zombie?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with wonder rather than fear.
The boy nodded. "I'm Zed. I've been stuck like this for three hundred years. An ancient wizard cursed me when I tried to steal magic seeds from his pyramid garden."
Lily's heart went out to him. "That's so lonely. Do you need help?"
"Every full moon, I need moon water from the pyramid's secret fountain to stay alive," Zed explained. "But I can never reach it in time."
Lily grabbed his hand, which was surprisingly warm. "Let's go together!"
That night, under the silver moon, they discovered a hidden door inside the pyramid. A beautiful fountain glowed with blue light, filled with magical water. Lily cupped her hands and helped Zed drink.
Suddenly, Zed's green skin turned pink, his purple hair became brown, and he could move freely again!
"You saved me!" Zed cheered. "You saw past how I looked and helped me anyway. That's the truest magic of all."
Lily learned that sometimes the scariest-looking problems just need a helping hand. She and Zed became best friends, and together they tended the most magical garden in the world, hidden deep inside the mysterious pyramid, where anyone who was kind was welcome—no matter how different they seemed.
