The Zombie's Lightning Padel Match

The summer sun beat down on the padel court at Camp Coconut. Lily and Max were practicing their swings, laughing as the ball bounced back and forth. The sweet scent of coconut filled the air from the tall palm tree swaying gently beside them.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, striking the very same palm tree!

"What was that?" Max whispered, his eyes wide as dinner plates.

From behind the palm tree emerged a green figure. It was a zombie! But this zombie didn't look scary at all. He had patchy blue hair, crooked teeth in a friendly grin, and wore a bright yellow t-shirt that said "GAME ON."

"Did someone call for a doubles match?" the zombie asked, scratching his head with a smile.

Lily and Max looked at each other in wonder. The zombie shuffled forward, holding a worn-out padel racket. "I'm Benny. I've been watching you play from behind the tree. You're really good!"

"You... you want to play padel with us?" Lily asked, surprised.

"Yes! I LOVE padel!" Benny did a little happy dance, his arms waving. "But I haven't found anyone who wants to play with a zombie. Everyone runs away when they see me."

Max smiled warmly. "We're not scared of you, Benny. Come join us! Everyone deserves a friend."

The three began playing together. Benny wasn't very fast at running across the court, but he had a special trick — when the ball came near him, he could stretch his arms super long to hit it!

WHAM! Benny would stretch his arm across the entire court and return the ball with a joyous laugh.

"INCREDIBLE!" Lily cheered. "You're amazing, Benny!"

"This is the BEST DAY EVER!" Benny spun around, grinning from ear to ear. "Thank you for being my friends!"

As the storm cleared, a beautiful rainbow arched over the palm tree. Lily, Max, and Benny kept playing until sunset, having the most wonderful game of padel ever.

Sometimes the best friends come from the most unexpected places — and true courage means being kind to those who are different from you.
