The Zombie's Golden Secret

Lily held out her small palm, and something magical happened. A tiny goldfish appeared, floating in the air above her hand, shimmering like liquid sunshine.

"Hello!" said the goldfish. "I'm Finn, and I need your help!"

Lily's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"Only to special children," Finn bubbled. "My friend Zed is in trouble. He's a zombie, but not the scary kind. He's the friendliest zombie you'll ever meet!"

Lily's heart beat fast with excitement. "Where is he?"

"In the orange grove behind your house," Finn explained. "Zed forgot to take his morning vitamin, and now he's feeling very grumpy. Without his special vitamin, zombies turn gray and forget how to be kind."

Lily grabbed her backpack and raced outside. The orange grove smelled sweet and warm. Behind the biggest tree sat Zed - a green zombie with patchy clothes and the saddest face Lily had ever seen.

"Hi Zed!" Lily called out bravely.

Zed looked up slowly. "Go away. I'm too grumpy for friends."

"Finn sent me," Lily said softly. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her favorite orange vitamin gummy - the one her mom said gave her super kindness powers. "Would you like this?"

Zed's eyes widened. "For me?"

Lily nodded and placed the vitamin in his large, gentle palm. Zed swallowed it, and something wonderful happened. His gray face turned a cheerful green, and he smiled so brightly that nearby oranges began to glow.

"Thank you!" Zed cheered. "Kindness is the best medicine!"

Finn appeared, dancing in the air. "You saved him!"

From that day on, Lily, Zed, and Finn had amazing adventures. They learned that everyone sometimes needs help feeling better, and true friends will always share what they have - even something as small as a vitamin gummy.

And sometimes, the most magical friendships come from the most unexpected places.
