The Zombie's Golden Pyramid

Mia loved the old palm tree in her backyard. Every evening, she'd sit beneath its frayed fronds, watching the sunset paint the sky purple and orange.

One Tuesday, something strange appeared in her palm—a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than a grape. It shimmered like captured sunshine. But the weirdest part? A shimmering blue cable curled around it, glowing like a firefly.

"Whoa!" Mia whispered. The cable tugged gently, like a dog wanting to play.

She followed it past the palm tree, through her wooden fence, and into the forgotten park behind her house. There, sitting on a swing set, was the most unexpected thing she'd ever seen.

A zombie.

But not a scary one. This zombie had wild pink hair tied in ribbons, and she wore a sparkly jacket covered in sequins. She looked lonely.

"You found it!" the zombie said, jumping up. "I'm Zara. That pyramid belongs to my grandma—the Zombie Queen of Magic!"

Mia's eyes went wide. "You're a REAL zombie?"

Zara giggled. "A friendly one! See, our magic pyramid got lost. Without it, our whole kingdom is gray and gloomy."

The blue cable pulsed brighter.

"I think the pyramid wants to go home," Mia said. She held it out.

Zara's eyes filled with sparkly tears. "You're giving it back? But you could keep it and have infinite wishes!"

Mia smiled. "Making a new friend is better than any wish."

She pressed the pyramid into Zara's palm. The cable whipped around them both, rainbow light exploding everywhere. When the glow faded, the park was blooming with magical flowers—purple roses that hummed, golden daisies that chimed like bells.

"Thank you," Zara said, hugging her. "Now you're part of our kingdom too. Anytime you need magic, just ask."

That night, Mia fell asleep with a tiny pyramid charm on her nightstand. Sometimes, the best adventures start with something strange appearing in your palm—and end with friendship that lasts forever.
