The Zombie's Golden Papaya

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's garden, especially the mysterious corner hidden behind tall sunflowers. One afternoon, she discovered something incredible—a miniature pyramid made of twinkling stones, no bigger than a shoebox.

"What's this?" she whispered, touching the glowing pyramid. Suddenly, the stones rumbled, and a small figure popped out! It was a zombie, but not a scary one. He wore a tiny tuxedo and had kind, sparkly eyes.

"Hello!" said the zombie, whose name was Zed. "I'm the Guardian of the Golden Papaya. Want to see something magical?"

Lily's eyes widened. "A papaya?"

"Not just any papaya," Zed grinned. "The Golden Papaya grants one wish to pure-hearted children. But first, you must beat me at padel!"

Lily laughed. "I love padel!" She played every weekend at the park with her dad.

They played right there in the garden—Zed with an old wooden racket, Lily with a fresh one that appeared from nowhere. The ball was actually a tiny papaya seed! They laughed and played for an hour, and though Zed was quick, Lily's fancy footwork helped her win.

"You're amazing!" Zed cheered. "You deserve the wish." He reached inside the pyramid and pulled out the most beautiful papaya Lily had ever seen—it shimmered like gold in the sunlight.

"What do you wish for?" Zed asked.

Lily thought carefully. She could wish for toys, or candy, or anything. But she looked at Zed, who seemed lonely in his pyramid.

"I wish," she said slowly, "for you to have friends to play padel with every day."

Zed's eyes filled with sparkly tears. "That's the kindest wish anyone has ever made."

The Golden Papaya glowed brightly, and suddenly, more friendly zombies appeared from the garden—Zora, Zane, and little Zinnia. They all carried padel rackets!

"Thank you, Lily!" Zed hugged her. "Now we'll never be lonely again."

Every day after school, Lily visited her new friends. They played padel, shared papaya snacks, and told stories. The miniature pyramid became their special clubhouse, and Lily learned that the best wishes are the ones that help others.
