The Zombie's Golden Braid
Lily had the most magnificent **hair** in the village of Willowbrook. It tumbled down her back in long, golden waves that shimmered like sunshine. Every morning, she wove flowers into her braids, and the butterflies would follow her everywhere she went.
One afternoon, while exploring the Whispering Woods, Lily heard sniffles coming from behind an old oak tree. There sat a little green boy with patches on his elbows and a crooked smile. He was a **zombie**, but not the scary kind from stories. He was just a lonely magical boy who had wandered away from his home in the Misty Mountains.
"Everyone runs away when they see me," he sniffled, clutching a stuffed rabbit. "Even the squirrels."
Lily sat beside him. "Your patches are like rainbow confetti! And your eyes sparkle like emeralds. I'm Lily. What's your name?"
"Barnaby," he whispered, smiling for the first time.
They became best friends. Barnaby loved watching Lily braid her hair, and she taught him how to weave daisy chains. One day, they heard loud snorting from a nearby meadow.
A massive **bull** with horns like polished crescent moons was stuck in a muddy ditch. The poor creature had been chasing butterflies and slipped.
"He looks scary," Barnaby whispered, hiding behind Lily.
"He needs help," Lily said firmly. "Everyone deserves kindness, even when they look different."
Together, they gathered vines and branches. Lily tied them to the bull's horns while Barnaby pushed from behind. With a mighty heave, the bull scrambled free!
The bull bowed his enormous head gratefully. "I'm Brutus," he rumbled gently. "Thank you for helping me. Most run when they see my size."
"We know what that's like," Lily smiled, patting Brutus's soft nose.
From that day on, the three friends were inseparable. Lily's hair, Barnaby's patches, and Brutus's gentle strength made them the perfect team. They learned that true friendship sees with your heart, not your eyes—and that the best adventures happen when you're brave enough to be kind.
