The Zombie's Baseball Wish
The sky grew dark as Tommy and his friends practiced baseball in the park. Dark clouds rolled in, and soon rain began to fall. The children packed up their equipment, but then they saw him—a green-skinned zombie slowly walking toward them.
"Don't worry," Tommy whispered to his scared friends. "He looks friendly."
The zombie's eyes sparkled like stars. "I've watched you play for weeks," he said in a soft, croaky voice. "I wish I could learn baseball. Everyone runs away from me because I'm different."
"Running away isn't right," said Tommy firmly. "Everyone deserves a chance."
The other children nodded. They showed the zombie how to hold the bat, how to stand, and how to swing. The zombie tried hard, but his arms moved stiffly and he missed the ball every time. Still, he kept trying with a smile on his face.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, striking near the baseball field. The magical glow from the lightning sparkled around the zombie. Something amazing happened—his stiff arms suddenly became strong and flexible!
The zombie swung the bat again. CRACK! The ball soared high into the air, higher than anyone had ever hit before.
"Wow!" shouted all the children together.
From that day on, the zombie practiced with the children every week. He taught them that being different doesn't mean being less. The children taught him that friendship and kindness are the most important things in the world.
The zombie's baseball wish had come true, but he gained something even more special—a team of friends who saw beyond his green skin and understood that true beauty shines from within.
