The Zombie's Baseball Game
Lily loved playing in her backyard with her golden retriever, Buster. One sunny afternoon, she found something strange tangled around the old oak tree—a thick black cable she'd never seen before.
"What do you think this is, Buster?" she asked, tugging gently. The cable wiggled! To her amazement, it began to uncoil itself, moving like a friendly snake.
Suddenly, a funny green creature popped out from behind the tree! He had messy hair, crooked teeth, and walked a bit stiffly. "I'm Zed!" he said. "I'm a zombie, but not a scary one. I'm just hungry for fun!"
Lily wasn't scared at all. She laughed. Zed explained he'd been sleeping underground for a hundred years, and her tug on the magic cable had woken him up. He noticed her baseball glove on the grass.
"Baseball! My favorite game!" Zed cheered. "I used to play every day before my long nap."
Lily's eyes widened. "You know baseball? Want to play with us?"
"Yes!" Zed exclaimed. "But first..." He pulled something from his pocket—a glowing orange pill. "A special vitamin from the magic garden underground. It gives energy for friendship and fun!"
He broke it into three pieces. Lily, Buster, and Zed each took one. Suddenly, they all felt sparkly and strong, full of happy energy.
They played baseball until sunset. Zed wasn't stiff anymore—he ran and jumped and laughed. Buster fetched the ball, his tail wagging nonstop. Lily hit home runs over the fence. They weren't just playing; they were making memories that would last forever.
As the sun began to set, Zed grew sleepy again. "Time for me to nap," he said with a yawn. "But don't worry. Just tug that magic cable whenever you want to play again. Friends who play together, stay together."
Lily hugged her new friend. "I'll never forget you, Zed."
"And I'll never forget you," Zed whispered, curling up beside the oak tree. "True friendship is the best magic of all."
That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile, dreaming of zombies, baseball, and the magical power of friendship. She knew that sometimes the most unexpected friends bring the most wonderful adventures.
