The Zombie Pool Party

Emma hated spinach. Every time her mom served those green leaves for dinner, Emma made a face and pushed them around her plate.

One evening, while playing in her backyard, Emma noticed something strange near the old swimming pool. It hadn't been used in years, and green vines covered everything. But now, under the full moon, the pool was glowing!

Emma crept closer and gasped. The pool was filled with floating spinach leaves, but they weren't just leaves—they were moving! Little green creatures, no bigger than her thumb, were swimming and splashing. They had round spinach heads and leafy bodies.

"We're the zombie spinach!" squeaked one, climbing onto a lily pad. "We're not scary zombies—we're magical ones! We sleep all day in gardens, but at night, we come alive in magical pools to play!"

Emma watched in wonder as dozens of spinach creatures danced on the water, slid down the pool slide they'd made from vines, and had races across the pool.

"Want to join us?" asked a friendly spinach named Pip.

Emma jumped right in! She swam and laughed with her new friends until the sky began to lighten.

"Time to sleep!" the zombie spinach called. They turned back into regular spinach leaves and floated to the bottom of the pool.

The next night, Emma returned with a bag of spinach from dinner. She sprinkled it into the pool, and soon, even more zombie spinach friends appeared!

At dinner that week, Emma ate all her spinach without complaint. When her mom asked why, Emma just smiled. She knew that sometimes, the things we think are boring might be magical in ways we never imagined.
