The Zombie Papaya Game
Mia loved summer mornings, especially when she could play padel with her best friend Leo at the park. But today, something magical was waiting for them.
Behind the padel court, in a forgotten corner of the garden, grew the most extraordinary papaya tree Mia had ever seen. Its fruits glowed with a soft golden light, as if tiny stars were trapped inside.
"I bet those papayas are magic," Leo said, his eyes wide.
Just then, the papaya began to wiggle and giggle! Before their eyes, it rolled off the branch and bounced toward them, splitting open to reveal not fruit, but five little creatures made of papaya sweetness. They had googly eyes and wore tiny sporty headbands.
"We're the Papaya Zombies!" they cheered in squeaky voices. "We love running and playing games! Can we join your padel match?"
Mia and Leo laughed with delight. These weren't scary zombies at all—they were the friendliest, most playful zombies anyone could imagine!
"But we don't have rackets," said the smallest papaya zombie sadly.
Mia had an idea. She snapped twigs from nearby bushes and wove them together with soft leaves. Leo found smooth stones and attached them with vines. Soon, each papaya zombie had their own tiny racket.
The game began! The papaya zombies were amazing at running—they zipped and zoomed across the court like little orange comets. Mia served, Leo returned, and the papaya zombies hit the ball with surprising skill, laughing all the while.
"This is the best day ever!" shouted the lead zombie as they all ran around the court, playing the most magical game of padel anyone had ever seen.
As the sun began to set, the papaya zombies grew sleepy. "Thank you for playing with us," they whispered, hugging Mia and Leo with sticky-sweet arms. "You taught us that even zombie-creatures can have friends and fun."
They wiggled back into their papaya shell, which glowed one last time before transforming into five perfect, delicious papayas.
Mia and Leo shared the magical fruit with everyone at the park. And every time they played padel after that, they remembered the most important lesson: fun and friendship are for everyone—even little papaya zombies who just want to play.
