The Zombie Goldfish's Midnight Adventure

Lily loved her pet goldfish, Bubbles. He was orange and sparkly, with fins like flowing ribbons. Every night before bed, she tapped the glass of his bowl. 'Goodnight, Bubbles,' she'd whisper.

One Tuesday, Lily couldn't sleep. She reached for her iPhone to play a game, but something caught her eye. Bubbles was floating at the top of his bowl, completely still. His eyes were wide open, but he wasn't moving.

'Oh no!' Lily cried, rushing over. 'Bubbles, wake up!'

But then—something magical happened. Bubbles slowly turned his head, looked right at Lily, and winked.

She grabbed her iPhone and started recording. Bubbles swam to the surface, took a tiny breath, and suddenly—POOF! He grew legs and climbed right out of his bowl!

'Bubbles?' Lily whispered, amazed.

The goldfish stretched. 'I'm not Bubbles right now,' he said in a bubbly voice. 'I'm a zombie goldfish! At midnight, I wake up for ADVENTURES!'

Lily laughed. 'You're not scary! You're silly!'

'Want to go swimming?' Bubbles asked. 'The moonlight pool is magical tonight!'

Lily's eyes widened. 'Really?'

'Touch your phone to my scales,' Bubbles said. 'It'll give you gills!'

She tapped her iPhone against Bubbles, and suddenly she could breathe underwater! Together they jumped into her backyard pool. The water shimmered with moonlight. They swam with real fish, played tag with a friendly octopus, and danced with glowing jellyfish.

'This is the best night ever!' Lily said, doing a somersault.

Bubbles smiled. 'The best adventures happen when you're brave enough to believe in magic.'

As the sun began to rise, they returned to Lily's room. Bubbles climbed back into his bowl, his legs disappearing. 'See you tomorrow night,' he whispered, drifting to sleep.

Lily watched the video on her iPhone, grinning. Her goldfish was a zombie adventurer! She learned something wonderful: the most magical things can hide in the most ordinary places.

That night, Lily fell asleep dreaming of midnight swimming and zombie goldfish, excited for tomorrow's adventure.
