The Zombie Goldfish's Magical iPhone
When Emma's goldfish stopped moving, she felt a tear slide down her cheek. Goldie had been her best friend for three whole years.
But then—SWISH! Goldie's tail flicked. The little orange fish zoomed around her bowl like a tiny rocket. Emma gasped. Her grandma leaned in, chuckling. 'Well would you look at that? A real live zombie goldfish!'
Emma giggled through her tears. Zombie or not, she was just glad Goldie was back.
That afternoon, Emma took Goldie's bowl on a picnic in the woods. She placed it carefully on a mossy log while she ate her sandwich. Suddenly, something rustled in the bushes. A massive brown bear lumbered out!
Emma froze. But instead of roaring, the bear sat down and pointed a giant claw at the ground. There lay an iPhone, glinting in the sunlight.
'You dropped this,' the bear seemed to say with gentle brown eyes.
Emma couldn't believe it—this bear could understand her! She picked up the phone and noticed something amazing. The screen showed Goldie swimming in her bowl, but the fish was glowing with rainbow colors!
'Touch the screen,' the bear seemed to gesture.
Emma did, and WHOOSH—she was suddenly inside the iPhone! A magical underwater world stretched before her, with floating stars and singing seashells. And there was Goldie, no longer just a fish, but a glowing magical creature with a sparkly crown.
'Thank you for naming me,' Goldie spoke in a bubbly voice. 'I needed love to become my true self.'
The bear appeared beside them, now wearing a wizard hat made of stars. 'In our world, love brings things to life. Your love gave Goldie magic powers.'
Emma hugged her fish friend. 'I'll always love you, Goldie.'
When she returned to the real world, the bear winked and vanished into the forest. Emma skipped home, carrying her zombie goldfish—the most magical friend anyone could ever wish for.
Sometimes, she realized, the most wonderful surprises come from the things we think we've lost, returned to us better than before.
