The Zombie Goldfish's Home Run

Leo's goldfish Finn floated lifeless at the top of his bowl. The little orange fish hadn't moved all morning. Leo's heart sank - this was the day of his big baseball game, and Finn was supposed to be his lucky charm.

'Please don't be gone,' Leo whispered, tears stinging his eyes. He remembered what his grandmother always said: 'Sometimes, love can work small miracles.'

Gently, Leo poured fresh, cool water into Finn's bowl. He sprinkled some magical fish food and whispered, 'Please wake up, Finn. I need you today. I need you to cheer me on.'

Something amazing happened. Finn's tail flickered! His gills moved! The goldfish began swimming around - he looked like a little zombie goldfish, back from nowhere! Leo couldn't believe his eyes.

'You're my miracle fish!' Leo laughed, clapping his hands as Finn did happy flips.

At the baseball field, Leo's team was losing badly. The other players laughed. 'You can't win! You're too small!'

But Leo remembered Finn's magical comeback. He stepped up to the plate, imagining Finn swimming through the air beside him like a tiny golden coach, whispering words of courage.

The pitcher threw the ball. WHOOSH! Leo swung with all his might, channeling all of Finn's zombie-comeback energy.

CRACK! The ball sailed higher and higher, over the fence, splashing into the pond beyond!

'HOME RUN!' everyone cheered. Leo's team won the championship!

That night, Leo found something special on his pillow - a golden baseball charm that shimmered like fish scales in the moonlight. Finn swam in happy circles, blowing tiny bubbles that looked like miniature baseballs floating to the top.

Leo learned that day that sometimes, even when things seem impossible, a little hope and a lot of heart can help you make the most amazing comebacks - just like his zombie goldfish who taught him to never give up.
