The Zombie Goldfish's Grand Slam

zombiegoldfishbaseballiphone

Lily's goldfish, Sparkle, was the most ordinary fish in the world. He swam in circles, ate flakes, and slept. Until the day he didn't.

One Tuesday, Lily found Sparkle floating at the top of his bowl. He looked like a zombie goldfish—googly eyes, stiff fins, not moving at all. Lily cried. Her grandpa said, "Sometimes fish just go to sleep forever."

But Lily refused to give up. She made a wish while blowing out her birthday candles: "Please, make Sparkle swim again."

That night, Sparkle woke up. Not just swimming—he was GLOWING. His scales shimmered like tiny baseballs, and he could swim through the air! Sparkle wasn't a zombie fish anymore. He was MAGIC.

"Lily!" Sparkle said in a bubbly voice. "Your wish came true! I can help you win the big baseball game tomorrow!"

Lily couldn't believe it. Her pet goldfish could talk?!

The next afternoon, Lily's team was losing 8-2. The other kids laughed at her. Then Sparkle—hidden in her pocket—whispered, "Watch this!"

Sparkle swam out from Lily's pocket like a tiny sparkly tornado. He zipped around the baseball field, making the ball curve and spin in crazy ways. Every time Lily hit, the ball flew over the fence! Home run! Home run! HOME RUN!

"How are you doing that?" yelled the other team's captain.

Lily winked. "Magic."

Her dad captured everything on his iPhone. "This is going on the family channel!" he laughed.

Sparkle zoomed back into Lily's pocket just before the final pitch. CRACK! The ball sailed into orbit. Lily's team won 12-8!

That night, Sparkle explained, "I wasn't really a zombie fish, Lily. I was just... charging up my magic. Now I can help you with anything!"

Lily hugged her fish bowl. "You're the best pet ever. Even better than a regular goldfish."

"Even better than a zombie?" Sparkle joked.

"Way better," Lily giggled.

From then on, whenever Lily needed help—whether with homework, friendship troubles, or more baseball games—Sparkle was there. Not as a zombie, not as an ordinary fish, but as her magical best friend.

Because sometimes, the most amazing adventures start with something that looks like the end... but is really just the beginning of something magical.
