The Zombie Goldfish's Big Game

Benny loved baseball more than anything. Every Saturday, he'd grab his glove and head to the dusty field behind his house. But today was different. Today was the championship game, and Benny's team was down by three runs.

As Benny stepped up to the plate, he spotted something strange in the orange puddle near first base. A tiny goldfish flopped there, shimmering with an eerie green glow.

"I'm a zombie goldfish," the fish bubbled. "And I can help you win."

Benny's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"And grant wishes," the fish said. "But only for one inning."

Benny wished for the perfect hit. CRACK! The ball sailed over the fence—a home run! His teammates cheered. But as Benny rounded the bases, he noticed the other team looked sad. Their pitcher, a giant bull named Bruno, hung his head.

Bruno wasn't scary. He was just lonely. Nobody wanted to be friends with a bull who played baseball.

"Wait!" Benny called. "That wish felt wrong. Winning isn't fun if it makes others feel bad."

The zombie goldfish swam in its orange puddle. "You're a good kid, Benny. What do you really wish for?"

"I wish Bruno had friends too."

Suddenly, the orange puddle grew into a magical field where both teams played together. Bruno smiled—a big, goofy grin. Benny's teammates invited the bull to join their team for next season.

The zombie goldfish shimmered one last time. "That was the best wish yet. Friendship beats winning any day."

Benny's team lost that game, but as he walked home with Bruno and his magical new fish friend in a jar of orange water, he felt like the biggest winner in the world. Sometimes, the best surprises come from the unlikeliest places—even from a zombie goldfish in an orange puddle.
