The Zombie Goldfish Adventure
Lily's goldfish, Goldie, had been her best friend for three years. But yesterday, Goldie had gone to fishy heaven. Or so Lily thought.
That night, something magical happened. Lily was dreaming about swimming in a sparkling ocean when she heard a tiny tap-tap-tapping sound. She rubbed her eyes and peeked into her fishbowl.
Goldie was back! But something was different. Goldie was glowing with a soft rainbow light, swimming in slow, funny circles. "I'm a zombie goldfish now," Goldie bubbled. "I came back to play with you one last time!"
Lily clapped her hands in wonder. This wasn't scary at all—it was amazing! Goldie explained that magical fish sometimes return as zombie fish to grant one special wish to their best friends.
Outside, Lily's dog Buster started barking excitedly. Somehow, Buster could see Goldie's magical glow too!
"My wish is for us to go on a real adventure together," Lily whispered.
Suddenly, Goldie's light grew brighter. The fishbowl lifted into the air, and they all floated out the window—Lily holding Goldie's bowl, and Buster swimming right beside them in the air like he was in water!
They flew over sleeping houses and twinkling streetlights, all the way to the moon. There, they had a midnight picnic with moon rocks that tasted like marshmallows. Goldie showed them the moon's secret rainbow caves, and they danced among the stars until dawn.
"Remember," Goldie said as the sun began to rise, "true friendship never really ends. It just changes into beautiful memories."
Back in her room, Lily hugged her sleeping dog. Goldie's bowl was empty, but Lily knew her friend would always be swimming in her heart. Sometimes the best goodbyes aren't goodbyes at all—they're just 'see you later.'
