The Zombie Garden Surprise

zombiespinachdog

Lily loved her garden. Every morning, she and Barnaby, her golden retriever with floppy ears like pancakes, would skip outside to check on the vegetables. But something strange was happening to the spinach.

"Bark!" Barnaby nudged Lily's hand with his wet nose.

"I know, buddy!" Lily gasped. The spinach plants looked wilted and sad, their green leaves drooping to the ground. She had planted them just last week, following all the instructions in her gardening book.

That night, under a full moon that looked like a giant glowing cheese wheel, Lily heard something. *Crinkle. Crinkle.* She peeked out her window, and Barnaby's tail started thumping like a drum.

The spinach plants were standing up straight, dancing in the moonlight! They weren't just growing — they were wriggling their leaves like little green arms. It was like a zombie spinach garden, but not scary at all. It was magical!

Grandma Rose had told Lily stories about Moonlight Vegetables — special plants that came alive at night to spread magic dust that made other gardens grow. The dust looked like tiny sparkling stars floating in the air.

"We have to help them share their magic!" Lily whispered to Barnaby.

The next day, Lily had an idea. She carefully picked some leaves and made spinach smoothies for all the neighbors. Mrs. Higgins' roses bloomed bigger than ever. Tommy's tomato plant grew three feet in a week! The zombie spinach had brought the whole neighborhood to life.

Now, every full moon, Lily and Barnaby watch their special garden dance, sharing its magic with everyone. Because the best kind of magic, Lily learned, isn't just for keeping — it's for giving.
