The Zombie Garden's Magic

Lily loved her grandmother's garden, especially the strange patch of wilted plants in the corner. Grandma called them her "zombie flowers" because they always came back to life, no matter how droopy they looked.

One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! Purple lightning streaked across the sky, striking directly at the zombie flower patch. Lily gasped as green light swirled around the lifeless stems.

Suddenly, a little bear cub popped out from behind a water pump! He wore a tiny red hat and carried a basket of fresh spinach leaves.

"Hello!" said the bear, munching happily. "I'm Barnaby. The lightning magic wakes the zombie flowers every hundred years, and I come to help!"

Lily watched in wonder as Barnaby placed spinach leaves around each wilted plant. The purple water from the old pump flowed like magic syrup, feeding the hungry roots. Up, up, up grew the flowers—glowing pink and blue, swaying to music only they could hear.

"But why spinach?" Lily asked, giggling.

Barnaby twinkled. "Spinach gives magical strength! These flowers fought a big storm last year. They need extra power to bloom again."

The bear patted a flower that nodded its head gratefully. "True friends never give up on each other. Just like these zombie flowers—and just like you and me now!"

Lily helped Barnaby water every plant with the glowing water. They sang songs, told stories, and watched as the garden transformed into a fairyland of twinkling blossoms.

"Will you come back?" Lily whispered as the sky cleared.

Barnaby hugged her tight. "Whenever the lightning strikes and zombie flowers need help, I'll be here. And you'll know exactly when to wake them up."

That night, Lily fell asleep dreaming of spinach-eating bears, magical water, and flowers that never gave up. Some zombies, she decided, were the most wonderful friends of all.
