The Zombie Garden Party
Lily loved her fluffy cat, Whiskers, more than anything in the world. He had the softest orange fur and the brightest green eyes. Every afternoon, they would sit together in the garden, watching butterflies dance.
One sunny day, Lily's best friend Mateo came over to play. "Let's have a garden party!" Mateo said, holding a basket of flowers. But when they looked at the garden, they gasped. All the beautiful sunflowers were drooping, their heads hanging low like they were sleeping standing up.
"They look like zombie flowers!" Mateo joked, making funny faces. Whiskers the cat purred and rubbed against Mateo's leg, as if agreeing.
Lily's mom came outside, her long brown hair blowing in the breeze. "The flowers just need some water and love," she said gently, handing them a watering can. "Sometimes things seem scary or sad, but they just need a little help."
The three friends—Lily, Mateo, and even Whiskers—worked together. They watered every single flower. Whiskers purred loudly, and Lily whispered that cat magic was helping the flowers wake up.
Slowly, amazingly, the sunflowers began to lift their heads. Their yellow petals opened wide, smiling at the sun. By dinner time, the garden was beautiful again.
"You were right," Mateo said, high-fiving Lily. "They weren't zombie flowers at all. They were just thirsty!"
That night, as Lily cuddled Whiskers, she smiled. True friends and a little kindness could fix anything—even zombie gardens.
