The Zombie Garden Magic

Emma loved exploring behind her grandmother's house, where an old garden sat quiet and still. Grandma called them her "zombie plants" — they looked brown and sleepy, but she promised they held magic.

One sunny afternoon, Emma's fluffy dog Barnaby wagged his tail beside her as Grandma handed her a small bottle. "These are my sunshine vitamins," Grandma whispered. "One drop on each plant, and watch the magic."

Emma carefully dropped the golden liquid onto the brown stems. Barnaby's black hair stood up as if he sensed something wonderful about to happen.

Suddenly — POP! A tiny green shoot curled upward. Then another! The zombie garden was waking up!

Emma's messy red hair caught in the breeze as she laughed with delight. Barnaby barked and chased a butterfly that had appeared from nowhere.

"They weren't dead," Grandma explained. "They were just waiting for the right moment — and the right helper."

Emma watched amazed as flowers bloomed in colors she'd never seen before — purple sparkles, pink stripes, even blue polka dots!

"Everything has magic inside," Grandma said, hugging Emma. "Sometimes we just need patience, love, and a little help to show it."

That night, Emma dreamed of her zombie garden, knowing that even when things look sleepy and brown, magic might be waiting to wake up.

Barnaby dreamed too — of chasing butterflies in a garden that never stopped blooming.

The next morning, Emma found another small bottle on her pillow. A note read: "For my little gardener. Some magic takes time to grow, but it's always worth the wait."

Emma smiled, touching her messy hair, and whispered to Barnaby, "Ready for more magic, friend?"
