The Zombie Garden Adventure
Maya's brown hair bounced as she ran outside, following Barnaby, her silly golden dog. He always knew where the fun was hiding!
"What did you find, boy?" Maya asked. Barnaby wagged his tail and led her to the garden behind the old oak tree.
Maya gasped. The garden looked terrible! All the flowers drooped their heads. Their stems were bent and sad.
"They look like zombie flowers!" Maya giggled. The word zombie sounded funny and silly, not scary at all.
Inside her house, Maya's goldfish, Sparkle, swam to the front of his bowl. He seemed to be looking right at her!
"The flowers are thirsty," Maya whispered. Sparkle blew bubbles and splashed.
"That's it!" Maya grabbed her yellow watering can. She filled it with cool water from the hose. Water spilled over the sides, making rainbows in the sun.
Maya watered every single flower. She sang them a little song. Barnaby tried to help by digging holes, but Maya said, "No thank you!"
Something magical happened. The flowers lifted their heads. Their petals opened wide. Colors burst everywhere – pink, yellow, purple!
"You're not zombie flowers anymore," Maya said. "You're beautiful!"
From that day on, Maya visited the garden every morning. She learned that even when things look sad and droopy, a little kindness and care can bring them back to life.
The zombie garden adventure taught Maya something important: things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes they just need a friend who cares.
Barnaby barked in agreement, Sparkle swam in happy circles, and Maya's messy hair danced in the breeze. Everything was perfect.
