The Zombie Bull's Magic Pool
Tommy was the only kid who actually liked spinach. His mom called him her little superhero because he'd eat every green leaf on his plate.
One sunny afternoon, Tommy was playing by the old swimming pool behind his grandfather's barn. The pool hadn't been used in years — it was filled with rainwater and wild plants, shimmering like a secret mirror.
Something moved in the tall grass. A large, friendly bull emerged, but this was no ordinary bull. His patches were green like spinach leaves, and one of his horns glowed softly like moonlight. Tommy wasn't scared. He knew magic when he saw it.
"Hello there," said the bull, in a voice that rumbled like distant thunder. "I'm Barnaby, and I'm a zombie bull."
"A zombie?" Tommy's eyes went wide. "But zombies are scary!"
Barnaby chuckled. "Not all zombies, little friend. I was enchanted by a wizard who lived here long ago. He made me a guardian, but he made me eat nothing but spinach! Now I love it so much that my patches turned green."
Tommy gasped. "I LOVE spinach!"
"Then you're perfect for my secret mission!" Barnaby lowered his head. "This magic pool can grant one wish to anyone who's brave enough to try spinach soup — but only the purest hearts can see its magic."
Tommy looked at the pool. The water sparkled like diamonds, and deep down, he saw something moving — tiny fish that glowed like stars.
"What would you wish for?" Barnaby asked.
Tommy thought about all the kids who refused to eat their vegetables. "I wish every kid could discover how amazing spinach tastes!"
The pool erupted in green sparkles that swirled around them like tiny tornadoes. When the sparkles settled, Barnaby's patches were glowing, and Tommy felt warmer than sunshine.
"Your wish is granted," Barnaby whispered. "Every time a child tries spinach with an open heart, they'll taste its magic. And now, you'll always be my friend."
That night, Tommy dreamed of flying over fields of spinach with Barnaby, the zombie bull who guarded the magic pool. When he woke up, his mom was making spinach and eggs for breakfast.
"YUM!" Tommy shouted.
And somewhere, deep in the enchanted garden, Barnaby the zombie bull smiled, knowing that the magic of friendship — and spinach — would last forever.
