The Zombie Bull's Lightning Game

Max and Lily loved playing baseball in the meadow behind their house. But today was different — dark clouds gathered, and purple lightning streaked across the sky like magical paint splatters.

"Race you to the pond!" Lily shouted, grabbing her baseball glove.

As they ran, something amazing happened. The old wooden bull statue at the edge of the meadow began to move! Its eyes glowed green, and it stomped its hooves.

"I'm a zombie bull!" it announced in a rumbly voice. "And I challenge you to a baseball game!"

Max's eyes went wide. "But... you're a statue!"

"Not during a lightning storm!" The zombie bull grinned, revealing surprisingly friendly teeth. "The lightning gives me magic powers for one hour. Want to play?"

Lily squealed with delight. "YES! But we need more players!"

The bull pointed toward the pond. "Call the water spirits. They love baseball."

Max and Lily knelt by the water's edge. "Come play!" they called together.

Blue shimmering figures rose from the pond — water spirits shaped like baseball players! They hovered and giggled, their translucent bodies sparkling.

"Teams!" the zombie bull announced. "Me and the water spirits against you two!"

They played the most magical game ever. The water spirits could glide through the air to catch fly balls. The zombie bull hit home runs that sent the baseball flying into the clouds, where lightning bats it back. Max and Lily used their imagination to make impossible catches.

When the game ended, the bull's glow began to fade.

"Thank you," Max said, hugging the bull's leg. "That was the best game ever."

The zombie bull smiled. "Magic happens when you least expect it. Always keep your eyes open for wonder."

As the storm passed and a rainbow appeared, Max and Lily walked home, hand in hand, knowing that the most amazing adventures are the ones you share with friends — even when they're zombie bulls who come alive during lightning storms.
