The Zombie Bull's Baseball Game

Tommy loved summer afternoons, especially when he could play baseball with his friends in the field behind his house. Today was extra special because it was the championship game, and Tommy's team, the Sunflowers, was winning!

Suddenly, something strange shuffled out from behind the old oak tree. It looked green and bumpy, with one eye closed and the other wide open. "It's a zombie!" screamed tiny Mia, dropping her bat.

Tommy felt his heart racing faster than when he was running around the bases. But then the creature spoke in a deep, grumbly voice. "I'm not a zombie. I'm Barnaby the bull, and some mischievous raccoons painted me green while I was napping in the meadow!"

The children gasped. Sure enough, beneath the green paint, they could see the shape of a bull's horns and a very confused, gentle face. Barnaby looked so sad about his silly green paint.

"We can help you!" said Tommy, always the problem-solver. "And then you can watch us finish our baseball game!"

All the children worked together, using water from the nearby creek and gentle scrubbing with leaves. Soon, Barnaby was clean and brown again, looking quite proud.

"Thank you, little friends," Barnaby said warmly. "You showed me that kindness matters more than appearances. Would you like me to help with your baseball game?"

The children cheered! Barnaby became the best mascot ever, carefully knocking home runs with his mighty tail and cheering louder than anyone. The Sunflowers won the championship, and they had made the most unexpected friend.

That night, Tommy drifted to sleep smiling, thinking about how the scariest-looking zombie had turned out to be the kindest bull he'd ever met. Sometimes, the most wonderful adventures come from the most surprising places.
