The Zombie Bear's Magical Pool Party
Lily's backyard wasn't just a backyard. It was a jungle, at least in her imagination. The tall **palm** tree that Dad had planted last summer swayed in the breeze like it was whispering secrets. Lily loved to sit beneath its fronds and dream.
Today was special. Lily's best friend Leo was coming over, and they had big plans. Leo arrived wearing his Halloween costume—a fuzzy brown **bear** suit complete with fuzzy ears.
"Roar!" Leo called out, stumbling toward her. "I'm a zombie **bear**! I've been asleep for a hundred years, and now I'm hungry... for friendship!"
Lily giggled. "You're the silliest zombie I've ever met!"
The **pool** sparkled blue in the afternoon sun, calling to them like a giant watery playground. But first, they had to prepare.
"Zombie bears can't just swim normally," Leo explained seriously. "We must have a magical pool party!"
Lily's eyes widened. "What do we need?"
"Coconut cups!" Leo announced. "And magic **palm** leaf invitations!"
They gathered fallen palm fronds from the tree and decorated them with flowers and glitter. Lily's mom helped them cut coconuts in half to make tropical cups. Soon, the pool area looked like a magical island paradise.
"Now," Leo said, diving into the pool with a splash, "the zombie bear must perform the underwater dance of friendship!"
He spun and twirled beneath the water, bubbles rising around him like tiny diamonds. Lily jumped in too, and together they played for hours, imagining the pool was an enchanted lagoon and the palm tree was their magical guardian watching over them.
As the sun began to set, Lily's mom brought out snacks—fruit skewers and cookies shaped like bears.
"This was the best day ever," Lily said, leaning against Leo's shoulder as they sat on the pool deck, wrapped in towels.
Leo nodded, his bear costume wet but his smile huge. "Even zombie bears need best friends."
The **palm** tree seemed to wave at them in the twilight, and Lily knew something wonderful: imagination could turn any ordinary day into a magical adventure, especially when you shared it with a friend.
And somewhere in the backyard, a zombie bear and his best friend were already planning tomorrow's adventure.
