The Zombie Bear's Magic Garden

Lily discovered the old teddy bear in her grandmother's attic. He had one button eye, a patched ear, and fur the color of morning toast. Grandma called him Barnaby.

That night, Lily woke to see Barnaby shuffling across her room. He moved slowly, like a sleepy zombie, his arms stretched forward. "I'm a magic bear," Barnaby rumbled, "but I've forgotten how to dance."

Lily wasn't scared. She could see his gentle smile.

In the garden, moonlight made the spinach leaves glow like tiny emeralds. Grandma had said, "This spinach holds the magic of friendship. Share it, and hearts will wake up."

Lily picked a leaf and held it out. Barnaby took it and—pop!—his fuzzy feet began to tap. His stuffed arms waved. The zombie bear was dancing!

"Thank you, Lily," Barnaby twirled. "You shared your kindness, and now I remember my magic."

They danced under the stars until dawn, when Barnaby became still again. But Lily knew the truth: her bear friend would always wake up when she shared love.

Now, every night, Lily leaves spinach by her bed. And every night, the zombie bear wakes up to dance, reminding her that kindness is the strongest magic of all.

Some might say it's just a dream. But Lily knows better. Friendship, she discovered, makes the impossible possible.
