The Zombie Baseball That Loved to Play

Leo loved playing catch in his backyard with his golden retriever, Max. Every afternoon, they'd throw the ball back and forth until the sun painted the sky orange. But one day, Leo's favorite baseball rolled under the old shed and didn't come back.

That's when Leo found it — not just any baseball, but a dusty, magical one hidden in the grass. Something about it felt special. When he threw it to Max, the ball didn't just land. It danced through the air like it was alive!

"This isn't a normal ball," Leo whispered, eyes wide. "It's a zombie baseball!"

Max barked happily, his tail wagging so hard it looked like it might fly off. The magical ball kept coming back, again and again, never wanting their game to end. It was like the ball had chosen them to be its forever friends.

That evening, Leo's grandpa came over. He noticed something strange — the old television cable that usually sat lifeless in the corner was now glowing softly. On the screen appeared the most wonderful baseball game Leo had ever seen, played by children from everywhere and everywhen.

"That ball," Grandpa smiled, "belongs to the League of Forever Play. It appears only to children who truly love the game."

Leo and Max spent the summer playing magical baseball, learning that the best games aren't about winning or keeping score. They're about friendship, imagination, and never letting go of the things you love — even when they seem lost forever.

And sometimes, if you look carefully at an old orange baseball just right, you might see it wiggle, reminding you that magic lives wherever friendship finds a home.
