The Wonder Vitamin Adventure

Lily's golden retriever Barnaby was the best dog in the whole world. He cuddled with her when she was sad, and he always made her laugh. But Barnaby had a problem – he hated taking his vitamins. Every morning, Lily had to hide the chewy vitamin in a piece of cheese, and Barnaby would wolf it down suspiciously.

One day, Lily's mom brought home a new bottle of vitamins from a tiny shop in the city. "These are special," Mom said mysteriously. "Wonder vitamins."

That afternoon, Lily was playing games on her iPhone when Barnaby nudged her hand. He whined and looked at the vitamin bottle on the counter. Lily giggled. "You want your vitamin now?" She gave him one, and he gobbled it up happily.

Suddenly, her iPhone beeped. A message appeared on the screen: HELLO LILLY! THIS IS BARNABY!

Lily's eyes went wide. "Barnaby? Are you... typing on my phone?"

Barnaby barked and tapped his nose on the screen. MORE LETTERS appeared: THE WONDER VITAMIN GAVE ME MAGIC POWERS! I CAN TALK!

Lily and Barnaby spent the whole afternoon texting back and forth. Barnaby told her about his dog dreams – chasing squirrels, eating endless treats, and flying through the clouds like a superhero dog.

Then Barnaby typed something important: MY FRIEND MAX THE BEAGLE NEXT DOOR IS LONELY. HIS FAMILY IS AWAY. HE'S SAD.

Lily looked through the fence. Max was sitting alone in his yard, looking miserable. "We should help him!"

But how? They only had one wonder vitamin left. Lily thought hard. "Barnaby, what if we share it?"

Barnaby's tail thumped. YES!

Lily crushed the last vitamin into two pieces. Barnaby ate his half, and Lily carried the other half to Max's fence. Max's tail started wagging immediately.

That night, three phones lit up in the neighborhood. Lily's iPhone, Mom's phone, and Dad's phone all beeped at once. Messages appeared everywhere: THANK YOU LILLY! THANK YOU BARNABY! THIS IS MAX!

The three friends – one girl, two dogs – spent the whole weekend texting and playing together. They learned that sharing something special was even better than keeping it for yourself.

The wonder vitamins eventually ran out, but Barnaby and Max remained best friends. And every now and then, when Lily looked at her iPhone, she'd see a mysterious new message: WOOF! Which meant "I love you" in dog language.
