The Wizard's Sleeping Spell

Lily tended her magical garden every morning, but the spinach patch was her favorite. These weren't ordinary vegetables—they sparkled with tiny rainbow flecks and glowed softly at dusk.

One afternoon, Lily spotted something unusual near the garden gate. A figure shuffled slowly, moving as if in a dream. It looked like a zombie from her storybooks, but instead of feeling scared, Lily felt curious. The creature stopped at her spinach patch and reached out a hand, but then froze, trapped in some invisible spell.

"Bernard!" called Lily's best friend, a gentle brown bear who loved honey and helping others. Bernard lumbered over, his warm fur brushing against Lily's side.

"He's not a zombie at all," whispered Lily, noticing the silver crescent moon pendant around the frozen figure's neck. "He's a wizard under a sleeping spell!"

The wizard's eyes flickered open for just a moment. "Must reach the Mountaintop... the Cable... sunrise..." he murmured before drifting back into his trance-like state.

"The cable car!" exclaimed Lily. "The only way up Mount Moonlight before sunrise!"

Bernard nodded solemnly. "I'll carry him. You bring the spinach."

They hurried through the forest as stars appeared, reaching the cable car station just as the moon climbed high. Bernard carefully lifted the wizard, who moved as if sleepwalking, and stepped into the swaying cable car that would carry them up the mountain.

Lily clutched her basket of magical spinach. She remembered her grandmother's words: *The most powerful magic grows in the garden, but only courage makes it work.*

The cable car creaked upward, revealing the valley below like a sparkling quilt. At the summit, Lily placed the glowing spinach leaves around the wizard's feet as the first golden ray of sunlight touched the horizon.

"Wake up," she whispered, "your magic is needed."

The spinach sparkled brighter and brighter until the wizard gasped, fully awake. "Thank you," he said, smiling at Lily and Bernard. "I was gathering moon dew when a mischievous spirit cast that sleeping spell on me. Your magical spinach and brave hearts broke the curse."

He waved his hands, and tiny butterflies made of starlight danced around them. "For your kindness and courage, may your garden always bloom with wonder."

Lily and Bernard watched the sunrise paint the sky pink and orange, knowing that friendship and bravery were the strongest magic of all—and that even the scariest problems can be solved with a little help from friends.
