The Water Sprite's Magic Vitamin
Lily loved exploring the rocky shore behind her cottage. Every morning, she'd skip over smooth stones and collect shiny shells. But one Tuesday, she discovered something extraordinary.
In a shallow pool of sparkling water, tiny droplets floated like liquid stars. They glowed with every color of the rainbow—pink like cotton candy, blue like the sky, green like summer leaves.
"What are you?" Lily whispered.
A head popped up from the water. Not a fish. Not a frog. A boy with shimmering blue skin and hair made of sea foam. He was only as tall as Lily's hand.
"I'm Padel!" the little boy announced with a grin. "And those are magic vitamin drops! They fall from the moon when it smiles at the ocean."
"Vitamin drops?" Lily asked.
"Yes!" Padel did a joyful spin, sending ripples across the pool. "Each color gives a different gift. Pink makes you brave. Blue helps you swim faster than a dolphin. Green lets you speak with flowers!"
Lily's eyes widened. "Really?"
Padel nodded. "But they're only for kind hearts. Are you kind, Lily?"
Lily thought about sharing her lunch with lonely kids at school. About helping her grandmother plant tomatoes. About rescuing a wounded bird last spring.
"I try to be," she said softly.
Padel smiled and splashed water toward her. Three glowing drops landed on her palm. One pink, one blue, one green.
"Choose wisely," he whispered.
Lily looked at the drops, then at Padel who had given her such a precious gift. She closed her hand around all three.
"I don't need magic for myself," she said, dropping them back into the water. "But maybe someone else does. Someone who really needs it."
The water flared with golden light. When it faded, Padel was gone. But in his place, hundreds of vitamin drops sparkled, ready to help any kind soul who found them.
That evening, Lily skipped home, her heart full. She hadn't kept any magic. But somehow, the world seemed more magical anyway.
