The Water Sphinx's Magic
Lily discovered something magical in the lake behind her house. A small sphinx, no bigger than a puppy, rested on a lily pad. Its fur shimmered like moonlight on water.
"Hello," the sphinx said sadly. "I'm the guardian of this lake, but the water has become cloudy. I'm losing my magic."
Lily wanted to help. She noticed old fishing line and rope tangled in the reeds—an abandoned cable from someone's boat. "I can pull out the junk!" she said.
For two hours, Lily worked patiently, removing the cable and other debris from the water. The sphinx watched hopefully.
"There's one more thing," the sphinx whispered. "The lake needs magic vitamins to heal."
"Vitamins?" Lily asked.
The sphinx pointed to a cluster of glowing blue berries growing along the shore. "These special berries hold the water's magic. When they fall into the lake, they make it pure again."
Lily gathered handfuls of the shimmering berries and cast them into the water. Ripples of blue light spread outward. The cloudy water transformed, becoming clear as glass.
The sphinx's fur began to glow again. "Thank you, Lily! You've saved my home!" The sphinx did a happy flip in the sparkling water.
Lily learned that day that even small acts of kindness could make a big difference. Every morning, she returned to visit her friend the water sphinx, and together they kept the lake beautiful and clean.
The sphinx gave Lily a special gift—a small blue stone that glowed whenever water needed help. Now Lily was a guardian too, protecting nature's magic one small act at a time.
