The Water Bull's Secret Friend
Lily loved visiting the old stream behind her grandmother's cottage. The water sparkled like liquid diamonds in the sunlight, and she would sit for hours skipping stones and dreaming.
One hot afternoon, Lily heard a strange splashing sound. She crept closer and gasped. Rising from the stream was the most magnificent creature she had ever seen—a great white bull with silver horns and a coat that shimmered like moonlight on waves. But this was no ordinary bull. His hooves left trails of glowing ripples wherever he stepped.
"Hello, little one," the bull spoke gently. Lily was too amazed to be afraid.
"Are you... magic?" she whispered.
"I am the Guardian of the Stream," the bull replied proudly. "For a hundred years, I have protected these waters from pollution and harm. But I am lonely."
Lily's heart swelled with understanding. She knew how it felt to be lonely—she had just moved to this town and hadn't made any friends yet.
"I'll be your friend!" Lily exclaimed. "And I'll help you protect the water!"
Every day that summer, Lily visited her magical friend. She learned that the water could heal sick plants and make flowers bloom brighter. She gathered her classmates to clean up trash along the stream banks. Together, they built a beautiful garden that drew birds, butterflies, and wonder from everyone who passed by.
When summer ended and Lily had to return home, the water bull gave her a special gift—a tiny vial of stream water that would always stay fresh.
"True friends protect each other," he said wisely. "You protected my home, and I will always watch over yours."
Lily smiled, knowing she had found the most wonderful friend in the world, right where the water danced with magic.
