The Water Bull's Secret Friend
Lily loved visiting the old pond behind her grandmother's house. The water there sparkled like liquid diamonds, especially when the sun began to set. One warm summer evening, she was swimming peacefully when she noticed something wonderful—a magnificent bull standing at the water's edge, his coat gleaming like polished copper in the twilight.
But this was no ordinary bull. When he stepped into the pond, he didn't sink. Instead, he swam—gliding through the water as gracefully as a fish, his powerful legs moving with gentle strokes. Lily watched in amazement as the water bull created ripples of rainbow light wherever he touched the surface.
"Hello there," she said, treading water. "I didn't know bulls could swim."
The bull nodded his great head solemnly. "Only the magic ones," he seemed to say with his kind, dark eyes. "Would you like to race?"
Lily laughed with joy as they swam together, lap after lap, until the stars began to twinkle above. Every evening after that, she would return to swim with her new friend. They had the most wonderful adventures, diving for shiny pebbles and playing tag among the lily pads.
One day, Lily noticed something—small movements in the tall grass near the pond. Someone was watching them! A spy!
Rather than being frightened, she called out gently, "Come on out! We don't mind."
A shy little boy named Oliver stepped forward, clutching his glasses. "I'm sorry," he stammered. "I've never seen a swimming bull before. It's... it's the most magical thing I've ever seen."
The water bull swam to the edge and nudged Oliver's hand with his soft nose. "Would you like to join us?" Lily asked.
Oliver's eyes lit up as he waded into the cool water. That summer, the three friends had the most wonderful adventures anyone could imagine. And Lily learned an important lesson—sometimes the best magic happens when you welcome others to share in it, especially those who are watching quietly from the edge, wishing they could belong.
