The Water Bull's Secret Friend
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's cottage by the **water**. Every morning, she would sit by the sparkling lake and watch the ripples dance across the surface. But there was something magical about this place, something she couldn't quite explain.
One misty morning, Lily spotted something extraordinary. A magnificent creature emerged from the depths — a great **bull** with shimmering silver fur and horns that gleamed like moonlight. He wasn't scary at all. His eyes were kind and wise.
"I've been watching you," the bull said gently. "I'm Barnaby, the guardian of these waters."
Lily's eyes went wide. "You mean... you've been a **spy**?"
Barnaby laughed, a sound like bubbles rising to the surface. "Not a spy who wants to hurt anyone. I watch to make sure the lake stays safe and clean. But I've also been hoping for a **friend**."
Lily's heart soared. She had always wanted a magical friend!
"Why haven't you shown yourself before?" she asked.
"Because I needed someone with a pure heart," Barnaby explained. "Someone who truly loves and respects nature. And now I've found you."
From that day on, Lily and Barnaby had wonderful adventures together. He showed her secret underwater caves where rainbow fish swam, and hidden meadows where water lilies sang soft songs at sunset. In return, Lily promised to protect the lake and its creatures.
She learned that true friendship isn't about what you can get — it's about what you can give together. And sometimes, the most magical friends are the ones you least expect to find.
Every time Lily visits the cottage now, she looks for the silver ripples that mean Barnaby is near. And every time, she whispers, "Thank you for choosing me to be your friend."
