The Water Bull's Secret

waterfriendbull

Lily loved exploring behind her grandmother's farm, especially on hot summer days. Her favorite spot was the sparkling river that wound through the meadow like a silver ribbon.

One afternoon, as Lily dipped her toes in the cool **water**, she noticed something strange. A large black **bull** stood near the riverbank, but he wasn't grazing like the other bulls. He was dipping his massive head into the flowing river, again and again.

Curious, Lily crept closer. The bull raised his head and looked at her with the gentlest brown eyes she'd ever seen. In his mouth, he held a small, struggling fish. Carefully, he lowered the fish back into deeper water.

"You're helping them!" Lily whispered.

The bull nodded slowly. From that day on, Lily visited her secret friend every morning. She named him River, and together they rescued fish, turtles, and even baby birds that fell into the water.

One day, heavy rains caused the river to rise dangerously. A group of ducklings was swept toward the dangerous rapids. Without thinking, Lily waded in, but the current was too strong.

Suddenly, River appeared. He plunged into the raging water, using his massive body to create a calm spot. Lily grabbed each duckling and placed them safely on the bank. River nudged her to shore just as the waters surged higher.

"You're not just a bull," Lily hugged his wet neck. "You're a hero."

The other farmers never understood why River always gathered by the river, watching over every creature. But Lily knew the truth—her friend had the biggest heart of any animal on the farm.

Some friendships begin in the most unexpected ways, even between a little girl and a gentle bull who loved water more than grass.
