The Water Bull's Secret

waterbullrunning

Lily loved running through the meadow behind her grandmother's cottage. Every morning, she'd race across the grass, her bare feet pattering against the earth like raindrops on a tin roof.

One especially hot day, Lily followed a butterfly to the edge of the creek, where the water tumbled over smooth stones in sparkling ribbons. That's when she saw him—a magnificent bull with fur the color of moonlight and horns that shimmered like pearls.

But this wasn't an ordinary bull. Where his hooves touched the ground, droplets of pure water sprang up, and tiny flowers bloomed instantly in his wake.

"Hello there," Lily whispered, staying very still.

The bull turned his massive head, and his eyes were deep pools of kindness. He didn't run away like the farm bulls did. Instead, he stepped closer, and Lily noticed something magical—his body was made entirely of flowing water, somehow held together by ancient magic.

"I've been waiting for someone like you," the bull spoke, his voice like a gentle stream. "The river is dying because children have forgotten how to play. Will you help me?"

Lily nodded eagerly.

The Water Bull lowered himself so she could climb onto his back. Together they galloped through the countryside, and everywhere they went, water burst from dry earth—forming creeks where none had been, filling empty wells, and bringing life back to withered gardens.

Children ran outside to see the miracle, laughing and splashing in the newly formed puddles. Their joy filled the air like music.

"Thank you," the Water Bull said as the sun began to set. "You reminded me that magic lives in wonder and friendship."

He promised to return whenever the water needed help, but told Lily the real magic was in her heart—a heart brave enough to believe in the impossible.

That night, Lily fell asleep to the sound of running water, dreaming of her new friend and knowing that some secrets are worth keeping, especially the ones that make the world a little more wonderful.
