The Water Bull's Gift

Lily loved running through the meadow behind her cottage. Every morning, she'd race across the grass, her wild curls bouncing like springs. Her hair was special—it tangled and curled until it looked like tiny waves.

One hot afternoon, Lily was running near the old stream when she heard a sad splashing sound. She crept closer and gasped. A magnificent bull stood trapped in the muddy bank, his coat shimmering like liquid silver under the sun.

"Please help," the bull spoke, his voice gentle like flowing water. "I am the Water Bull, guardian of all streams. I'm stuck."

Lily's eyes widened. A magical bull! Without hesitation, she grabbed a long branch and wedged it into the mud. The bull pushed, his silver hooves flashing. With her help, he burst free with a joyous splash.

"Thank you, kind child," the Water Bull said, dipping his massive head. "Your courage has freed me. For this, I grant you a gift."

He touched his shimmering nose to Lily's forehead. Suddenly, her tangled curls transformed! They flowed like smooth water streams, sparkling with tiny rainbows.

"Your hair will always stay smooth and beautiful," the Water Bull promised. "And whenever you run near water, you'll hear the streams singing to you."

From that day on, Lily's hair flowed like liquid silk. But more wonderful—when she ran past streams and rivers, she heard them whispering secrets: where the sweetest berries grew, which paths led to hidden meadows, and where other creatures needed help.

Lily became the meadow's helper, running to rescue baby birds and lead lost deer home. She learned that true beauty wasn't just about appearance—it was about using your gifts to help others.

Sometimes, if she stood very still by the stream, the Water Bull would appear, his silver coat gleaming in the sunlight. And every time, he'd nod his massive head, as if to say: "That's my friend."

And so Lily lived her days running free, her water-smooth hair flowing behind her, her heart full of magic and friendship. She knew that the best gifts weren't just the ones we receive, but the ones we share with the world.
