The Vitamin Zombie's Splash
Emma loved swimming more than anything. Every summer day, she'd dive into Sparkle Lake, her favorite spot in the whole world. The water always felt magical, shimmering like diamonds under the sun.
One afternoon, while doing her best underwater somersault, Emma saw something strange at the bottom of the lake. It looked like a person, but it was green and moving very slowly. Curious, she swam closer.
The creature looked like a zombie! But instead of being scary, it looked sad and tired. Its skin was pale green, and it moved in slow motion, like it was stuck in thick jelly.
"Hello?" Emma said through her bubbles.
The zombie's eyes widened. It pointed at its tummy and made a sad groaning sound.
Emma suddenly remembered – her grandmother had told her about magical lake creatures called Vitamin Zombies! They weren't scary at all. They just got very tired when they didn't eat their magical underwater vitamins.
The zombie reached into its pocket and pulled out a glowing orange pill. But its hands were too slow and shaky to take it.
"Let me help!" Emma said. She gently took the magical vitamin and held it to the zombie's lips. The zombie swallowed, and suddenly – POOF!
The zombie's green skin turned a healthy pink. It stood up straight and started dancing! It did a happy underwater twirl and gave Emma the biggest smile she'd ever seen.
"Thank you!" the zombie said in a bubbly voice. "I'm Zara, the lake's vitamin keeper! I guard the magical vitamins that keep the water sparkling."
Zara took Emma's hand and showed her a secret underwater cave filled with glowing orange vitamins. "These keep the lake magical," Zara explained. "When I don't take mine, I get slow and sleepy."
Emma and Zara spent the afternoon swimming together, racing and playing tag with the fish. They became the best of friends.
From that day on, Emma always packed extra vitamins when she went swimming – just in case Zara needed one. And Zara always made sure the lake was extra sparkly for her friend.
Emma learned that even scary-looking creatures might just need a little help – and sometimes the best friendships start with a simple act of kindness.
Whenever Emma ate her vitamins at home, she'd think of Zara and smile, remembering her magical friend at the bottom of Sparkle Lake.
